Regenerating the World...
one place at a time

Our current world circumstances calls for change in our systems. Our current paradigm of ‘business as usual’ path is resulting in despair, climate change, biodiversity loss, social fragmentation and cultural erasure.

It is time for a story of hope.

Regenerative Placemaking is an approach to designing and activating places that heals ecosystems, strengthens communities and their local economies, and deepens cultural connections.

The ultimate aim of our work at Village Well is to help build better places through our Regenerative Placemaking Model:

At its heart, Regenerative Placemaking is about creating places that are alive and interconnected-places that evolve, restore, and thrive over time. Practices that work best vary depending on a place and its progress on its journey. We take a strategic approach to support you in understanding your place and help you to identify the most impactful interventions to change your system.

Village Well acknowledges and celebrates the Traditional Custodians of the lands, waterways, seas and skies that together make up the places on which we live, work, learn and play. We recognise their role as great contributors to the care and maintenance of place and value their ongoing deep care and knowledge of Country that continues to be passed on through generations.

As placemakers, we understand the impact that disconnecting from Country can have, and acknowledge the consequences of colonisation on the oldest living culture in the world. We are committed to support the continued wisdom and practices of First Nations Peoples, and strive to work collaboratively to nourish Country - our plants, animals, communities, neighbourhoods, cities and the planet - for now and into the future.
